Polamco have once again committed to support Bath Rugby PLC and the Community Foundation Programme – Polamco are also Shirt Sponsors to the South African pair Michael Claassens and Butch James
Butch James
South African World Cup winner Butch James arrived at the Rec in November 2007, having just helped South Africa lift the William Webb-Ellis trophy, He quickly established himself in the No. 10 shirt, and played a key part in Bath’s victory in the 2008 European Challenge Cup win. He is currently out with a serious knee injury but will be fit to play in January 2010
Michael Claassens
Michael Claassens joined Bath Rugby from Super 14 side the Cheetahs in the summer of 2007. A tough, physical scrum-half whose service is highly rated, Claassens also has a good boot and is very strong in defence. With eight caps for the Springboks the 26-year-old is of international class.
He bosses a pack very well and his quick service has helped change the dynamic of the Bath back play, turning it into one of the most exciting in the Guinness Premiership.
When both available, his half-back partnership with fellow South African Butch James is instinctive and provides a perfect platform for the team around them. With James likely to become a key player for the club next season (injury and the World Cup prevented the two from playing together more last season), we will hopefully see the partnership continue to blossom. This season Michael is the Bath Club Captain
